About Herbalism

Herbs (Phytotherapy) have been used as a major source of healing since the dawn of man in all civilisations. In the west too, even what is termed as scientific medicine continued to prescribe herbs as its main tool until the 1930’s when pharmaceutical companies decided to provide herbal components in the form of a drug rather than the whole herb. Today of course this has advanced into synthetic imitations of herbal components and other compounds which imitate in part herbal components.

Here conventional medicine and Phytotherapy depart.

Phytotherapy believes that man is not a chemical compound but an expression of a life force and herbs express this life force too. Thus there is synergy between man and herbs, and the original plant in its wholeness is key. Herbs do not block or alter body functioning like pharmaceuticals, but teach the body to work better. Even science or specifically biophysics has come full circle by recognising that the light and co2 which plants use to produce their nutrient are active when consumed as a supplement and can play a key part in our cellular functioning.

Different herbs address different aspects of body functioning, while herbal mixes such as we provide in our CLASSIC HERBAL FORMULAE range can be much more efficient than single herbs in bringing about health improvements.

Herbs not only address chronic illness like psoriasis or diabetes but everyday situations like nervousness, sadness, can’t feel asleep and so on. Drinking a bit too much?

Take LIVER SUPPORT. Can’t feel asleep? Try SLEEP FORMULA.
